The Mike & Sofia Segal Foundation partnered with LLS to find a cure for CMML. Collaboratively, we will revolutionize how rare blood cancers are researched and treated.

The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s mission: Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. LLS funds lifesaving blood cancer research around the world and provides free information and support services.

The Mike & Sofia Segal Center for Academic Pluralism in NYC is home to academic researchers who produce and disseminate scholarship to advance HxA’s mission and improve discourse within higher education.

Heterodox Academy (HxA) is a nonpartisan, nonprofit membership organization of thousands of faculty, staff, and students advocating for policy and culture changes that allow universities to be truth-seeking, knowledge-generating institutions grounded in open inquiry, viewpoint diversity, and constructive disagreement.

HxA empowers members to advance change on their campus, educates academics on the importance of our principles, and advocates for policies to protect open inquiry across higher education.

Constructive Dialogue Institute (CDI)

The Constructive Dialogue Institute and the Mike & Sofia Segal Foundation partnered on a unique project: The Constructive Dialogue Leadership Institute. The Constructive Dialogue Leadership Institute equips campus leadership teams to create a climate of constructive dialogue across curricular and co-curricular spaces. Each year’s cohort consists of 10 schools, who come together for a 2-day in-person retreat, which will be followed by a monthly professional learning community over the course of 18 months to ensure leaders feel supported by CDI and a network of peers while embarking on this challenging work.

CDI is a non-partisan, non-profit organization that leverages behavioral science to foster openness to diverse perspectives and equip people with the mindset and skill set to engage in constructive dialogue across differences.

The Mike and Sofia Segal Center for Jewish Culture in Tel Aviv presents a diverse array of activities and events at ANU museum, catering to the general public, families, and youth.

The foundation also gifted the museum its beautifully renovated terrace, overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. The terrace is used for private events for the general public and the museum’s employees.

ANU – Museum of the Jewish People is a unique enterprise that tells the ongoing and extraordinary story of the Jewish People. ANU celebrates Jewish civilization, diversity, and unity. Formerly Beit Hatfutsot, ANU, “we,” or “all of us” in Hebrew, is about the connectedness of the Jewish People and the narrative that embraces our ethos, guards our values and heritage, and presents the myriad threads of our experience that transcend time and place.

Niv Nirel Center

The Niv Nirel Center is a pioneering, world-class psychological trauma and rehabilitation facility in Israel, dedicated to providing state-of-the-art treatment to victims of combat-related trauma and training the next generation of psychotherapists.

It all started when Tami Raviv lost her daughter, Niv Raviv, with her boyfriend, Nirel Zini. A young couple tragically murdered in the October 7th terror attacks at their home on Kibbutz Kfar Aza.

The Mike & Sofia Segal Foundation is funding multiple preservation projects at the Central Park Conservancy, including The Bethesda Fountain and the Shakespearean Garden.

The mission of the conservancy is to preserve and celebrate Central Park as a sanctuary from the pace and pressures of city life, enhancing the enjoyment and well-being of all.

Amigour logo

Amigour

The Mike & Sofia Segal Foundation is proud to announce a new Amigour facility for older adults in Tel Aviv – 22 units for couples and 68 units for single residents – and renovating 61 existing units. The Amigour’s Plugot residence is located in the city’s Hatikva Quarter. It is situated next to a park and a future light rail line. In addition to the new construction and the renovation of the existing apartments, all of the public spaces in the existing building have been renovated.

Founded in 1972 as a non-profit company, Amigour is a subsidiary of the Jewish Agency and is Israel’s leading sheltered housing company and second-largest public housing group.

A large majority of the residents at these housing facilities are new immigrants from the Former Soviet Union and Holocaust survivors.

The Mike & Sofia Segal Foundation is funding a groundbreaking study, a collaboration between Moffit and MIT. Using Moffit’s knowledge and samples of CMML and a unique AI model, we might find a target for patients with a rare disease that has no cure.

Moffitt Cancer Center’s unrelenting mission is to save more lives. That’s why they are accelerating the science with greater urgency than ever before. Dr. Eric Padron is an associate member of the Department of Malignant Hematology, and the Cancer Biology and Molecular Medicine Programs.

Dr. Regina Barzilay is a School of Engineering Distinguished Professor of AI & Health in the Department of Computer Science and the AI Faculty Lead at MIT Jameel Clinic.

The Chaim Herzog Museum of the Jewish Soldier in World War II

The Mike & Sofia Segal Foundation was honored to meaningfully participate in the development of The Association for the Establishment of the Museum of the Jewish Soldier in World War II.

The museum honor the 1,500,000 Jewish men and women who were recruited into, or volunteered for the armed forces of the Allies, the Partisans and the resistance movements, as well as perpetuating the memory of the 250,000 Jewish soldiers who gave their lives during the War.

Ehlers Danlos Society

The Mike & Sofia Segal Foundation is proud to support The Ehlers-Danlos Society meaningfully. EDS is a global organization dedicated to advancing and accelerating research and education in Ehlers-Danlos syndromes (EDS) and hypermobility spectrum disorders (HSD). They support the development of effective and equitable EDS and HSD therapies and work collaboratively to improve the lives of individuals affected by EDS and HSD. Center for Jewish Impact, Sasa Setton, Alumot Or

The Mike & Sofia Segal Foundation joined SASA Setton and Alumot Or to launch a three-year initiative aimed at supporting the rehabilitation and development of early childhood education centers in the Western Negev. The project focuses on preschools in areas impacted by the October 7 massacre, particularly in the Gaza border, and is being carried out in coordination with the Education Ministry and local authorities.
